Ayumu is a chimpanzee at Kyoto University. When he was five years old, he played a memory game on a touch screen. Numbers appeared for a very short time and then changed into white squares.
Ayumu had to touch them in order. He did better than university students, even when the numbers appeared for only 0.21 seconds. But later, people who practiced a lot got similar scores.

Q1. What is the passage mainly about?
Q2. What did the numbers change into?
then changed into white squares とあるので B。
Q3. In this passage, "in order" means ...
In 2007, researchers at Kyoto University compared the memory of young chimpanzees and university students. One of the chimps was Ayumu, a five-year-old male. In the task, five numbers appeared on a screen and were then covered by white squares, and participants had to touch the squares in order from the smallest number. As the display time became shorter, from about 0.65 to 0.21 seconds, the students made more mistakes, but Ayumu's accuracy hardly dropped. The result became world news.
However, in 2009, two American researchers reported that humans who practiced the task many times could reach scores close to Ayumu's. They pointed out that Ayumu had trained for a long time, while the students had little experience.

Q1. What happened as the display time became shorter?
the students made more mistakes, but Ayumu's accuracy hardly dropped とあるので A。
Q2. What did the two American researchers report in 2009?
humans who practiced the task many times could reach scores close to Ayumu's とあるので D。
Q3. What was the main problem with comparing Ayumu and the students?
Ayumu had trained for a long time, while the students had little experience
Five numerals flash at random spots on a touch screen. As soon as the first one is touched, the rest turn into white squares, and the task is to tap the hidden numbers in order. In a 2007 study by Sana Inoue and Tetsuro Matsuzawa of Kyoto University, three young chimpanzees and their mothers took this test alongside university students.
In the key condition the numerals were shown for about 0.65, 0.43 or 0.21 seconds. The students' accuracy fell as the time got shorter. Five-year-old Ayumu's accuracy barely changed, even at 0.21 seconds. Matsuzawa later proposed a "cognitive trade-off" hypothesis. Our ancestors, he suggested, may have gained language at the cost of some of this instant, photographic working memory.
In 2009, Silberberg and Kearns showed that people who practiced extensively could get close to Ayumu's performance, and others pointed out that Ayumu had far more training than the students. Those rebuttals, though, also rested on very few participants. With so few individuals on either side, and so much difference in experience, the trade-off idea is hard to test. What the 2007 data do record is one young chimpanzee taking in five numerals in about a fifth of a second.
